TradingView / Setup
A practical field guide

Read the setup.
Then read the space.

This TradingView indicator combines trend alignment, VWAP, EMA triggers, relative volume, and nearby price levels. The signal is a prompt to investigate a trade, never a promise that the trade will work.

01 / Signal logic

What creates an L or S?

A marker appears only when the direction, trigger, volume setting, and confirmation setting agree on the current chart.

L Long setup
  1. Close is above VWAP.
  2. 9 EMA is above 20 EMA.
  3. Price crosses above the 9 EMA.
  4. Relative volume passes the threshold, when enabled.
  5. The candle is closed, when confirmation is enabled.
S Short setup
  1. Close is below VWAP.
  2. 9 EMA is below 20 EMA.
  3. Price crosses below the 9 EMA.
  4. Relative volume passes the threshold, when enabled.
  5. The candle is closed, when confirmation is enabled.
02 / Market structure

Signals need room to move

The dashboard finds the closest usable level above and below price. Use those levels to judge whether an entry has room before the next likely reaction area.

Dashboard item What it means How to think about it
NEAR RESIST Closest confirmed swing high or previous-day level above price. Potential ceiling for a long.
NEAR SUPPORT Closest confirmed swing low or previous-day level below price. Potential floor for a short.
PREV HIGH High of the completed previous trading day. Reference for rejection or breakout.
PREV CLOSE Close of the completed previous trading day. Context for acceptance above or below value.
PREV LOW Low of the completed previous trading day. Reference for support or breakdown.
Important detail: a swing level is confirmed only after the configured number of bars appears on its right side. With the default strength of 5, the level is more deliberate but arrives with delay. Treat all levels as zones, not exact prices.
03 / Decision process

A repeatable pre-entry check

The indicator answers “is there a technical setup?” Your process answers “is this setup worth taking?”

Orient

Confirm the chart timeframe and read the higher-context trend in the dashboard.

Qualify

Check VWAP, 9/20 EMA alignment, the L or S trigger, and relative volume.

Map

Locate nearby support and resistance. Reject entries with too little room to the opposing level.

Define

Choose invalidation, stop context, and target before entering. Do not chase a rejected level.

04 / Learning plan

Five setups to learn

Use the memory line Break, Reverse, Fail, Ride, Align. The first four ideas are distilled from the supplied VWAP transcript. The fifth connects that material to this indicator's support, resistance, VWAP, and EMA workflow.

2. VWAP reversal

When a stock in play stops making new highs or lows after extending away from VWAP, wait for a trigger back toward VWAP. The failed extreme defines the risk boundary.

Watch: VWAP reversal →

3. VWAP false breakout

Price crosses VWAP but cannot hold the new side. A failed move above VWAP can set up a short; a failed move below can set up a long. Do not treat every VWAP touch as a trade.

Watch: VWAP false breakout →

4. VWAP trend ride

After acceptance above or below VWAP, structured pullbacks hold the 9 or 20 EMA. Trail behind meaningful structure and avoid forcing this setup in sideways VWAP chop.

Watch: VWAP trend ride →

5. Level and indicator align

A previous-day, pre-market, or confirmed swing level agrees with VWAP and the 9/20 EMA direction. Wait for rejection or reclaim, then check that the opposing level leaves enough room.

Watch: level and indicator align →

Study rule: record the setup name, time of day, stock-in-play reason, VWAP position, nearby levels, trigger, invalidation, target, result, and rule-following quality. Review wins and losses before changing the plan. These setups are learning categories, not automatic signals from the Pine script.
05 / Book curriculum

Learn like a course, not a feed

The Bear Bull Traders channel has thousands of videos. Do not watch chronologically. Use a deliberate path: foundations, chart reading, stock selection, levels, VWAP, one strategy, risk, simulation, and review. Start with Andrew Aziz's "Complete Day Trading Guide" (chaptered, ~1 hour) for items 01, 02, 03, and 06 below, then use the Bear Bull Traders channel as a source library and use the exercises below as your curriculum.

04 / Mark important levels

Use the daily chart for previous-day levels and major support/resistance. Then observe reactions on the 5-minute chart.

Watch: support and resistance →

05 / Learn VWAP

Study value, support, resistance, rejection, reclaim, and acceptance. Always connect VWAP to volume and location.

Watch: VWAP strategy →

07 / Delay order flow

Study Level 2, time and sales, liquidity, and order flow after the basics are stable. More information is not automatically better information.

Watch: Level 2 and order flow →

08 / Control risk

Define entry, stop, risk per share, size, target, daily loss limit, and trade limit before considering real money. Measure results in R.

Watch: risk management →

09 / Review actively

Pause a live recap before the entry. Predict direction, entry, stop, target, level, VWAP position, and volume, then compare your reasoning.

Watch: trade recap review →

The first eight weeks

Week Focus Evidence of progress
01 Beginner guide and terminology Explain the core terms from memory.
02 TradingView, candles, volume, EMA, SMA Read a clean chart without extra indicators.
03 Support/resistance and daily levels Mark levels and describe reactions.
04 VWAP Classify above, below, rejection, reclaim, and acceptance.
05 Stock selection and premarket Complete a repeatable premarket sheet.
06 5-minute ORB Write rules and review historical examples.
07 Simulator ORB trades Log rule-followed trades in R.
08 Journal review and recaps Identify one repeatable strength and weakness.
Milestone: your first goal is not “make a living from trading.” It is “execute one strategy consistently in simulation while controlling risk.” Keep real-money trading outside this first roadmap until your journal provides evidence.
06 / Timeframe pairing

Entry chart and context chart

On the 1-minute script

Use the 1-minute chart for entries. The dashboard reads 5-minute EMA direction for context. Expect more signals and more noise.

On the 5-minute script

Use the 5-minute chart for entries. The dashboard reads 1-minute EMA direction for context. Expect fewer, less sensitive signals.

When the dashboard says WAIT

Trend alignment is incomplete, price is not triggering, or the location does not offer a clear decision. Waiting is a valid outcome.

Deploy on GitHub Pages

This repository includes a workflow that publishes the trading-view/ folder as a GitHub Pages site, making this index.html the homepage.

Recommended: Actions

  1. Push the repository to GitHub.
  2. Open Settings -> Pages.
  3. Set the source to GitHub Actions.
  4. Run Deploy Trading View Pages from the Actions tab.
  5. Open the URL shown in the Pages settings.

Branch publishing

Select Deploy from a branch, choose the default branch and repository root, then open:

https://<username>.github.io/<repository>/trading-view/

The trading-view/ path matters because this repository contains several projects.

Publishing check: test the public URL after deployment, confirm that the source links open, and remember that this is educational material, not financial advice or a promise of trading results.
Risk note
This is an analysis tool, not an execution system.
It does not place orders, predict the future, or guarantee results. Confirm the candle, inspect the level, size risk deliberately, and use your own trading plan. A technically valid signal can still fail immediately.
